Woodstock Boatbuilders undertake various structural projects on yachts. Work focuses mainly on the repair or replacement of the hull, deck, spars and gaffs, and the structural work is carried out using materials such as wood, aluminum and carbon fiber.

For example an owner or captain could tie in other services on offer such as paint refinishing, metal machining and fabrication, marine engineering, new teak decks or the composite shop, all of which are housed under the same roof. Woodstock Boatbuilders also assign each job a project manager who coordinates all the work, which results in less down time for the yacht.
When accidents happen at sea and your yacht is damaged or needs repair Woodstock Boatbuilders is experienced at working with surveyors to assess the damage and help keep down time to a minimum. An example of structural work done is the yacht Wild Horses which came to Woodstock Boatbuilders following damage which occurred during a race. The yacht required the bulkhead to be reinforced with Garolite G10 as well as frames, deck beams and other structural components.
For Woodstock Boatbuilders classic yacht restoration, wooden spar construction and structural rebuilds are a passion. We are currently restoring the 1939 14 ton Gauntlet; Pegasa designed by HG May and built in Berthon boat yard in Lymington UK. The yacht is the first 14 ton Gauntlet to be built before World War II, and surprisingly still retains her lead ballast, despite most lead being removed from yachts for the use in the war. When she was first built Pegasa was kept by the designer and builder HG May in order to teach his sons how to sail. Now residing in Woodstock’s yard in English Harbour Pegasa required a total restoration. Updates on the restoration of Pegasa will be posted on the website.
