Zenji (2004)
Zenji (2004) 56m Perini Navi
Zenji, anchored at dusk.
Zenji is a beautiful example of the now popular Perini Navi 56m range. Originally commissioned for Larry Elisson of Oracle- she attended the 2013 America’s cup as mother ship when another of Larry Elison’s yachts “Oracle Team USA 17” won the cup following the famous comeback from 8-1 to 8-9 after Sir Ben Ainslie took over as tactician.
Since then she has cruised world wide privately and successfully as a charter yacht.
Prudently the owners of the vessel chose to redeck the vessel in sections so that the boat is never out of commission for too long. To ensure this process went smoothly, and to meet the vessels tight deadline, significant preplanning and logistics were conducted so that the materials arrival would coincide with the Zenji’s. As soon as the lines were tied to the dock, we got on board to start our work and didn’t leave until she had left.
In addition to replacing various portions and planks around the deck, we treated the aluminum sub deck for corrosion and also installed a new FaMu system (Fresh air make up), whilst switching the powering for these units to from three-phase to single-phase.
